Why FinCalc
Frequently asked questions
Is FinCalc really free?
Yes. Every calculator on FinCalc is free to use, with no account required and no email capture. We keep the lights on via privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics.
Do you store my inputs?
No. All calculations run in your browser. Your inputs never leave your device. The only state we remember locally is your theme and currency preference (in your browser's localStorage).
Can I share a calculation with someone else?
Yes. Every calculator has a Copy share link button that encodes your current inputs into the URL fragment (the part after #). The recipient sees the same numbers you did.
Which formula does the Compound Interest calculator use?
For a starting principal PV, periodic rate r, number of periods n, and end-of-period contribution PMT:
FV = PV × (1 + r)n + PMT × ((1 + r)n − 1) / r (when r > 0).
Is FinCalc financial advice?
No. FinCalc is an educational tool. We apply standard textbook formulas, but we make no warranty as to accuracy or fitness for your specific situation. Always consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions. See our disclaimer.
